Triops longicaudatus, or Triops for short, are fascinating creatures that first came into existence during the Triassic era whilst T-Rex, Triceratops and other dinosaurs still dominated.

Their eggs evolved to survive period of drought, only to hatch once there has been sufficient rainfall. This rare characteristic enables us to safely store them until a time it is convenient to care for them. Their relatively simple care, fascinating properties, energetic behaviour, reasonable size and short life-span, lends them excellent educational value whilst being fun, curious pets too.

This great little kit contains everything in you need to hatch your Triops, including a suitably-sized, plastic tank to hatch the Triops, with gravel to line the base and create a more attractive environment for them to swim in. Everything you need is provided, apart from the water, of course!

Triops can grow up to 5cm long and usually live between 20-90 days.
